This is a typical Konkani delicacy prepared with ripe jackfruit, jaggery, and coconut milk.Ponosu is a Konkani word for jackfruit. This typical Jackfruit payasam is called PONSA GHARAYI in Konkani.
Ingredients
5 ripe jackfruit bulbs cut into pieces
2 cups coconut milk
2 tbsp semolina/Rava
Jaggery to taste
1 tsp cardamom powder
3 tsp ghee
Nuts and raisins roasted in ghee for garnishing
Procedure
In a pan take 1 tsp ghee and roast jackfruit pieces for 2 minutes
Add Rava and fry for 2 minutes
Add coconut milk, jaggery and make it boil for 5-10 minutes
Garnish with nuts and cardamom powder
Serve hot
