Dum Peas Pulav

Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked in water for 15 mins

5 -6 tsp oil/ghee

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

2 small onions sliced

1/4 cup fresh green peas

1/2 inch cinnamon piece

1 cardamom

2 cloves

3 green chillies slit

2 tbsp nuts

1/2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp lime juice

pinch of saffron colour/turmeric pdr

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing





Procedure

  • In cooker heat oil/ghee and put ginger garlic paste and fry

  • Add whole spices, green peas nuts and 1 1/2 cups water

  • When water starts boiling add salt to taste, green chillies,garam masala,

  • Put the soaked rice, lime juice, saffron colour and close the cooker lid

  • Switch off the gas after 2 whistles and garnish the rice with chopped coriander leaves

  • Serve hot with raita or curry.
