Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked in water for 15 mins
5 -6 tsp oil/ghee
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 small onions sliced
1/4 cup fresh green peas
1/2 inch cinnamon piece
1 cardamom
2 cloves
3 green chillies slit
2 tbsp nuts
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp lime juice
pinch of saffron colour/turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Procedure
In cooker heat oil/ghee and put ginger garlic paste and fry
Add whole spices, green peas nuts and 1 1/2 cups water
When water starts boiling add salt to taste, green chillies,garam masala,
Put the soaked rice, lime juice, saffron colour and close the cooker lid
Switch off the gas after 2 whistles and garnish the rice with chopped coriander leaves
Serve hot with raita or curry.
