Ingredients
1/4 cup split pigeon pea / toor dal
2 tblsp chana dal/ Split Bengal gram
2 tblsp masoor dal
2 tblsp moong dal
2 tblsp urad dal/ Split-black gram skinless
Salt to taste
1/4 cup methi leaves/fenugreek leaves finely chopped
Chopped coriander leaves
2 tsp fresh cream
For the tempering/Tadka
5 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
1/2 tsp turmeric / haldi powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 chopped green chillies
2 finely chopped tomatoes
1 chopped onion
5 finely chopped garlic
Procedure
Wash dals and soak in 2 cups water for 15 mins
Pressure cook dal for 3-4 whistles or till done
Heat oil in a pan .add jeera, chopped green chillies, garlic, and fry
When garlic becomes brown, add chopped onion and fry till it becomes transparent
Put the chopped tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy
Add chopped methi leaves and cook till it is done
Add turmeric pdr, chili pdr and saute for 2 mins
Now add the cooked dal mixture, salt to taste, and water if needed
Make it boil for 5 mins, add cream and mix well
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with phulkas.
