Shimla Mirch Matar Green Masala

Capsicum Matar green masala without onion and garlic is a flavourful and vibrant Indian dish that combines the sweetness of green peas and bell peppers with fresh herbs and spices.



INGREDIENTS:
1 shimla mirch / green capsicum cut into cubes
1/2 cup boiled fresh green peas
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp jeer1/2 tsp haldi/turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp lemon juice
Chopped coriander leaves
For the masala paste:
2 green chillies
1/2 inch ginger
A handful of coriander leaves
2 tbsp peanuts
1 tsp white til/ sesame seeds
2 tbsp coconut gratings
2 tsp oil
Firstly, roast the peanuts and transfer them to a bowl.
Next, roast all the remaining ingredients in the oil till they are lightly brown or a nice aroma comes
Grind the roasted ingredients with peanuts into a fine paste and keep aside.
PROCEDURE:
Heat a pan and put 1 tsp of oil in it. Add capsicum cubes with a little salt and roast till they cook. Transfer it to a bowl.
Put the remaining oil in the pan, add jeera, followed by the ground masala paste.
Roast the masala till the raw smell disappears. Add the turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and fry for a second.
Add in the boiled green peas, capsicum cubes, salt to taste, and water to adjust the consistency of the gravy. Let the gravy boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame and garnish with lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with roti, chapati, dosa, or rice.
