Colostrum Milk Pudding / Kharvas

Colostrum milk pudding or kharvas or ginnu is prepared using the colostrum milk that a  cow produces on the first day after it delivers a calf. It is believed that this milk is full of nutrients.

Ingredients


1 cup colostrum milk

1.25 cup of normal milk

3/4 cup sugar

1 tsp elaichi / cardamom powder

Some saffron strands



Procedure

  • Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well

  • Once the sugar is dissolved fully, transfer the mixture to a container that fits into your steamer

  • Heat idli maker/steamer or cooker and steam the mixture for 15-20 mins.

  • Turn off the flame, remove the container, and enjoy it hot or chilled.
