Curd Dosa

Curd dosa or Thayir dosa is a type of dosa made with yogurt-based batter. No dal is used in this recipe. This is a soft and spongy dosa prepared with only 3 ingredients. You can have it with chutney saagu or sambar for breakfast.









INGREDIENTS:

3 cups dosa rice

1 cup thick poha/ beaten rice/avalakki

1 cup curd

1 tsp methi/fenugreek seeds

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp cooking soda

Oil for cooking dosa



PROCEDURE:

  • Take rice and poha in a bowl and wash 3 to 4 times well. Drain all the water from it and add 1 tsp methi,1 cup curd, and 1 cup water into it .

  • Mix well and keep covered with a lid. Let it soak for 5 to 6 hrs.

  • Grind the soaked ingredients into a smooth paste adding little water and make a smooth paste.

  • Transfer the batter to a big vessel and cover with a lid. Let the batter ferment for 8 to 10 hrs.

  • Next morning, before making dosa, add salt to taste, and Cooking soda. Mix well and make thick dosas, adding a spoonful of oil.

  • Serve hot dosa with chutney or sambar.
