Mushti Dosa

Mushti dosa is a very tasty dosa prepared using rice, little urad dal, methi seeds, and beaten rice. This dosa will be very soft and tasty. 'Mushti' is a fistful and since the mushti measurement is used, it is called mushti dosa. This dosa has very little urad dal. But still, the dosa will be soft and fluffy.

Ingredients


1 pav dosa rice/raw rice (approx 1.25 cup)

3 fistful /mushti boiled rice (Ukda chaval) (approx little less than half cup)

2 fistful / mushti urad dal (1/4 cup)

1/4 tsp cooking soda or ENO fruit salt (optional)

1 tsp methi seeds

Salt to taste

Oil for cooking dosa



Procedure

  • Soak both rice and dal in water for 6-8 hrs, wash well and grind into a smooth batter

  • Keep overnight for fermentation

  • Next morning, add salt,cooking soda and water to adjust the consistency of the batter

  • Heat Tava put a ladle full of batter and spread lightly to make thick dosas

  • Cover it with a lid and cook on a medium flame

  • Serve hot with chutney.
