Piyava Tamboli / Onion Tambuli

Onion Tambuli or Piyava Tamboli is a very popular Konkani dish that goes well with hot rice and fish fry. This combo is very popular in Konkani meals. Tambuli is used as it is, no need to boil.








Ingredients

1/2 cup grated fresh coconut

2 red chillies roasted in little oil

little tamarind

Salt to taste

2-3 tsp coconut oil

1 finely chopped onion




Procedure

  • Grind coconut gratings with Roasted red chilies, salt, and tamarind. Make a smooth paste.

  • Transfer the paste to a bowl, add water and adjust the consistency as per your taste.

  • Add chopped onions and coconut oil. Serve with rice and fish fry.
