KARIBEVU is a Kannada word for curry leaf / kadipatta. This Tambuli is a part of North Karnataka Cuisine. This is a yogurt coconut sauce that keeps our bodies cool. It has a cooling effect when mixed with curd/yogurt. Tambuli goes well with hot rice, especially in hot summer.
Ingredients
1/2 cup curry leaves
1 green chilli
8 peppercorns
1 tsp jeera
3 tbsp grated fresh coconut
1/4 cup curd
salt to taste
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard
Procedure
In 1/2 tsp oil roast green chili, pepper, jeera, and curry leaves for 2-3 minutes
Grind with fresh coconut to a fine paste
Add 1/4 cup water, salt to taste, and curd
Tamper with mustard and curry leaves
Serve with hot rice.
