
Ingredients
1 cup soaked and boiled Kabuli chana
6 tsp oil
2 medium-sized onions finely chopped
2 small tomatoes finely chopped
1 sprig of curry leaf
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
For the masala:
In 1 tsp oil fry 3 tsp coriander seeds,1tsp cumin seeds,2 lavang,1/2 inch cinnamon,1/2 onion roughly chopped, and 4-5 byadgi red chillies
Grind the above ingredients with 5 garlic cloves,1/2 inch ginger, and 1/4 cup coriander leaves into a fine paste
Add 3 tbsp fresh grated coconut in the same masala paste and run the mixer only for 1 minute
Procedure
In a pan heat oil and fry onions chopped till transparent
Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, and chopped tomatoes and fry till tomatoes becomes pulpy
Put the masala paste and fry for a minute
Put the boiled chana,salt to taste and boil it for 5- 10 mins
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
You can substitute chana with chicken, prawns, or mushrooms.
Enjoy with hot rice or Phulkas.
