Adai is one of the most popular South Indian snacks. Here I have made a modern variant using crushed oats. The oats Adai is quick and easy to make, and incredibly healthy too. Oats being rich in fiber this recipe will keep you full for some time. It is packed with nutrients, such as folic acid and iron which help to increase hemoglobin level and benefit the heart too.
Ingredients
1 cup powdered oats
1/4 cup toor dal
1/4 cup chana dal
1/4 cup moong dal
Salt to taste
2 red chilies
1/2 inch ginger
2 finely chopped onion
Chopped coriander leaves
Oil for cooking dosa
Procedure
Wash and soak dals in water for one hour. Drain the water and grind with red chilies, ginger into a coarse paste
Put the ground paste in a bowl, add the powdered oats, salt, mix well. Add water to make it to a dosa batter consistency
Keep the batter aside for one hour. Heat Tava, spread a ladle full of batter, spread the mixture of chopped onions and coriander leaves over the dosa.
Drizzle with oil and cook till it becomes crisp
You can also add the chopped onions and coriander leaves to the batter and make dosas
Serve hot adai with coconut chutney
