Open masala paniyaram

Ingredients


1 cup urad dal

2 cups dosa rice

1 tsp methi seeds

2 bread slices

salt to taste

oil for cooking


For the stuffing masala:

2 tsp oil

1/4 cup grated carrot

1/4 cup boiled green peas

2 chopped onions

2 crushed green chillies

2 tsp chopped coriander leaves

Salt to taste



Procedure


  • To make the stuffing, in a pan heat oil and saute onions, green chillies for 2 minutes

  • Add grated carrot, green peas, salt and cook for 5 minutes

  • Add chopped coriander leaves, your stuffing is ready.

  • Soak urad dal, dosa rice and methi seeds in water for 5- 6 hours

  • Grind this with 2 slices of bread to a smooth batter

  • Ferment the batter for 7-8 hrs or overnight

  • Add salt to taste

  • Make appo or guliappa in its pan adding little oil

  • Put around 2 tsp of masala over the appo and cook it on both sides.

  • Serve with coconut chutney or sambar.

  • You can also use other veggies of your choice and also add any other masala according to your taste.
