Ingredients
2 cups dosa rice
1/2 cup urad dal
1 cup thick poha/ Aval /Beaten rice
1 tsp methi/fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste
Ghee for cooking dosa
Procedure
In a bowl put dosa rice, methi seeds, urad dal, and thick poha. Add water and wash 3 to 4 times.
Soak the ingredients in enough water for 5 to 6 hours.
If you are using thin poha, wash it gently just before grinding.
After 6 hours, drain the water and grind the ingredients into a smooth paste.
Transfer the batter to a vessel and keep it in a warm place for fermentation.
Let it ferment for 8 to 10 hours. Add salt to taste and mix the batter gently.
Heat tawa and spread a ladle full of batter. Spread the dosa as per your taste. Drizzle with some ghee.
Cook the dosa on a medium flame till it turns crisp and golden brown colour.
Serve hot dosa with coconut chutney.
