Potato Chettinad





Ingredients

3 boiled potatoes

2 sliced onions

1 chopped tomato

5 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

1/2 tsp asafoetida powder(hing)

curry leaves

1 tsp turmeric powder

coriander leaves

3 tsp fresh grated coconut

Salt to taste


For the masala powder:

1/2 inch cinnamon

2 cloves

1 cardamom

6 peppercorns

2 tsp saunf

5-6 red chillies

Dry roast all these and make a fine powder




Procedure

  • Boil the potatoes in the cooker (don't overcook ), peel and cut into cubes

  • Heat oil in a Kadai put mustard

  • When it splitters, add curry leaves,hing, turmeric powder, sliced onions and saute for 5 minutes

  • Add the chopped tomatoes and fry till it blends well

  • Now add potatoes with salt to taste and roast them for 5 minutes

  • Add the masala powder and stir well

  • Add grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti.
