Urad dal and Red boiled rice dosa

INGREDIENTS:
1.5 cups dosa rice
1/4 cup urad dal
1/2 cup thick poha/ beaten rice/ avalakki
One fistful of sabudana / tapioca pearls/ sabbakki
One fistful of red or white boiled rice
1 tsp methi/fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking dosa
PROCEDURE:
Take rice, dal, poha, sabudana, boiled rice, and methi in a bowl. wash 3 to 4 times well.
Soak the above ingredients in enough water for 4 to 5 hrs. If you are using thin poha, then wash it just before grinding and add it to the mixer jar.
Drain all the water from the soaked ingredients and grind them into a smooth batter. Keep covered with a lid and let it ferment for 8 to 10 hours.
The next morning, add salt to taste and mix well. Add water if necessary and adjust the consistency of the batter.
Heat the tawa and make dosa, adding oil or ghee. You can make thick dosa, paper dosa, and tuppa dosa, masala dosa, or paddu with the same batter.
Serve dosa with saagu, chutney or sambar.
