Moong Usal With Pav

Ingredients

1 cup moong sprouts/ sprouted green gram

1.5 tblsp oil

2 small onions chopped 1 tomato chopped 4 garlic cloves finely chopped

1 green chilli chopped

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp hing/ asafoetida powder

1 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp goda masala or garam masala

1 tsp red chilli powder

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

2 tblsp grated coconut


Lemon wedges, chopped onions, and farsan for serving





Procedure

  • Cook the sprouts in cooker with 1/2 cup water only for 1 or two whistles

  • In a pan heat oil, add chopped garlic, onions and saute till it becomes transparent

  • Put hing, tomato chopped and cook till it becomes mushy

  • Now add all the spice powders one by one and fry for 2 mins

  • Add the cooked sprouts, salt to taste and water to adjust the consistency

  • Add coconut gratings and make it boil for 5 mins

  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves

  • Put in a serving plate and sprinkle some farsan, chopped onions over it

  • Serve hot with pav or bread slices!!!
