Raw Jackfruit Curry

Ingredients

2 cups kadgi / raw jackfruit cut into cubes

Salt to taste


For the masala:

1 cup grated coconut

little tamarind

2 tsp urad dal

4 red chillies

roast urad dal and red chllies in 1/2 tsp oil and grind with coconut, tamarind into a semi coarse masala and keep aside


For the tempering:

3 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

curry leaves




Procedure

  • Cook raw jackfruit/ kadgi pieces in cooker with salt and 1/2 cup water for 2` whistles

  • Once the steam of the cooker is released, transfer the jackfruit pieces from, the cooker to a vessel, add the masala, salt to taste, 1/2 cup water, and boil it

  • Temper with the ingredients mentioned

  • Serve hot with rice and dal.
