
Ingredients
250 gms tendle / gerkins
5 -6tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
10 garlic cloves crushed
1 tsp red chilli powder or according to your taste
Salt to taste
Procedure
Wash and cut the ends of gherkins, slit into 6 or 4 pieces (lengthwise)
Apply salt and keep aside for 15 mins
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, when it starts crackling add crushed garlic and fry till it becomes brown
Add the gherkins and cook on a medium flame covered with a lid till it is cooked
Once it is cooked add red chilli powder and fry for 5 mins and turn off the flame
Serve hot with dal and rice
To save cooking time you can cook tendle in cooker for only one whistle and then add into the tempering
For good results use cast iron Kadai.
