Cabbage and Green Peas Thoran






Ingredients

2 cups finely chopped cabbage

1/2 cup green peas

1 potato cut into small cubes

4 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

2 tsp urad dal

1/2 tsp turmeric pdr

Pinch of hing

2-3 green chilles chopped

2 red chillies chopped

1 sprig of curry leaves

Salt to taste

3 tbsp freshly grated coconut




Procedure

  • In cooker take oil, add mustard, when it starts crackling, add curry leaves, urad dal and fry for a second

  • Add green chillies, red chillies,hing and fry for a minute

  • Now add the veggies, salt to taste and 1/4 cup water, close the lid of the cooker

  • Cook only for 2 whistles and switch off the flame

  • Once the steam is released open the lid, add the grated coconut, mix well

  • Check for the salt and serve hot with rice and dal.
