Green Peas Upkari / Sundal

Ingredients


1 cup fresh or frozen green peas

1 potato cut into small cubes

3 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

1 sprig curry leaf

3 green chillies finely chopped

1 tsp hing/ asafoetida powder

3 tbsp grated fresh coconut

Salt to taste



Procedure

  • In cooker heat oil, add mustard, when it crackles, add curry leaves, green chillies

  • Fry for a second, add hing and fry again

  • Now add the green peas, potato, salt to taste mix well

  • Add 1/2 cup water and cook for 2 -3 whistles

  • Once the steam of the cooker is released, open the lid, add grated coconut and toss well

  • Serve hot with rice and dal.
